Conor and Lisa - The Rabbit Hotel, Northern Ireland
“You worked so hard in the day, just having you film at our wedding was amazing”.
That’s what Conor and Lisa said to me at the end of their day. There was so much appreciation for my efforts that it reminded me that wedding videography is not only producing a timeless and incredible wedding video, but also how I interact with the bride, groom and their guests on the wedding day.
Conor and Lisa chose the Rabbit Hotel, Northern Ireland, as their venue of choice. The Rabbit offers just one wedding per day at the venue and caters incredibly well for couples. Not only is the wedding team very experienced, but they gel well as a team and nothing is too much to ask for - no wonder it was voted the top wedding venue in Northern Ireland in 2022.
Decked out in suits from Freddie Hatchet, Belfast, and made up of a couple of stylish barbers, the groomsmen were some of the sharpest that I’d filmed that year!
Lisa looked absolutely stunning and had 2 bridesmaids, her sister and niece.
The ceremony was carried out by Claire Taylor, humanist celebrant. I’m always a fan of humanist ceremonies as they really get to the story of how each couple met - which can speak volumes about what they are both like as people!
The ceremony was in the Rabbit Hotel’s latest addition - a purpose made outdoor ceremony room which is absolutely stunning. The natural light from the large windows made for great shots and the light splitting through the trees made for excellent shots of the bride and groom for their intimate portraits. Laura Parkinson was the wedding photographer (credit thumbnail image) and provided a huge dollop of energy throughout the day that really brought out the best in the wedding couple and their families, making my video work nice and straightforward.
The Rabbit Hotel hosts both the ceremony and reception in one place, making it easier for guests to relax and mingle. With their large banquet style tables and crystal chandeliers, the reception room is always stunning and this wedding reception was no exception.
Conor was probably the best groom that I’ve worked with this year. He was willing to try anything we asked and had a chiselled handsomeness to him that meant we could see why he was snapped up by Lisa!
The party lasted right through the night, with the DJ set being provided by Marty McNally. The couple chose to have their first dance to a brilliant solo guitarist and singer, which made it even more of an intimate moment.
Conor couldn’t stop crying when he watched his wedding film for the first time. I managed to capture the love between this incredible couple thanks to their honesty and openness towards me. This wedding was truly a pleasure to video.
