Up-and-Coming Northern Ireland Wedding Videography Trends for 2024
As an experienced wedding videographer based in Northern Ireland who has been filming weddings for over half a decade, I like to keep up with the latest trends.
As 2024 approaches, there are some exciting new wedding video styles and techniques that are going to be hot for Northern Ireland weddings and this post comes as part of my wider topic of Top Wedding Videography Trends in Northern Ireland for 2024.
Here’s an inside look at what up-and-coming wedding trends brides and grooms can expect from their wedding videos!
Drone Videography Takes Off
Just like I’ve said in The Latest Northern Ireland Wedding Videography Trends for 2024, one of the biggest trends I’m predicting for 2024 is the increased use of drone videography. While drones have been growing in popularity for a few years now, more videographers are embracing aerial shots to give a unique bird’s eye view perspective of the venues and landscapes.
Drones allow me to capture grand venues like castles and estates from angles that were never possible before. I can fly over the ceremony getting a aerial view of the wedding film the couple saying their I do’s with guest seated.
Then capture the newlyweds walk back down the aisle from a height. Drones also can follow alongside couples as they take sunset photos capturing stunning backdrops of Northern Ireland’s scenery.
A niche drone trend that is gaining momentum for wedding videos is utilizing first-person view (FPV) drones.
FPV drones have a camera mounted on the front, transmitting a pilot’s view via headset. This creates an exhilarating flying effect when viewing footage. While tricky to maneuver, FPV drone footage allows me to capture completely unique angles alongside venues, sweeping closely past ceremonial arbors and altar backdrops and it’s something I talk about in my post: What's Hot in Northern Ireland Wedding Videography for 2024.
The effect puts audiences right in the pilot’s seat, feeling like they are swooping along hedgerows and peering upward from low vantage points. As more videographers acquire skilled FPV piloting abilities, the demand for these radical new perspectives is sure to take off in coming years. Brides and grooms looking for cutting edge aerial snoots will be eager to inquire about FPV drone packages for an extra cinematic punch!
And drones aren’t just for outdoor shoots! I can fly them indoors too for elevated shots inside grand ballrooms and reception spaces. The possibilities for incorporating drone videography are endless! Couples are going to love seeing their venues and ceremonies from exciting aerial angles in their 2024 wedding videos.
Cinematic Music Video Styling
Along with drones, more cinematic music video effects and styling will be increasingly popular trend to emerge in 2024 wedding videos. Using digital video effects, color grading, animation, and dynamic camera movements, I can create emotional short films set to couples’ meaningful songs.
These cinematic edits are expanded on with 2024 Northern Ireland Wedding Videography Inspiration: Current Trends and Ideas and allow me to showcase couples’ love stories in a music video fashion with extra visual flair.
Close up slow motion shots emphasizing emotional details paired with moving camera angles makes the videos visually stunning and engaging. Songs that hold significance for couples are elevated by applying various cinematic styling effects.
Having these short 2-3 minute highlight films to share gives couples and guests a creative way to re-live touching wedding moments. The cinematic music video style edits pack more allure allowing my 2024 wedding videos to rival the artistry of professional short films and music videos!
Interactive Wedding Website Integration
One highly anticipated interactive wedding trend, is integrating the wedding video onto couples’ wedding websites!
Just like I alluded to with Northern Ireland Wedding Videography Predictions for 2024; having an embedded video as well as being able to link to a full online gallery allows guests who couldn’t attend to feel more connected to the event.
Plus, enabling downloads and video clip sharing capabilities encourages guests who did attend to share moments via social media which is word-of-mouth advertising for my videography services!
Couples love having user-friendly access to their wedding video to re-watch again and again from the convenience of their wedding website too.
As more couples opt for wedding websites in 2024, wedding videographers, like myself will integrate with wedding web platforms through linked video galleries, clip embeds, and downloadable footage for guests.
This takes the wedding video experience to exciting interactive levels for couples and audiences!
Focus on Audio Quality
Audio quality is one of the 2024 Northern Ireland Wedding Videography Trends to Elevate Your Wedding Video. As wedding videos move towards more cinematic styling, clear audio and quality sound mixing is going to be critical for immersive viewing experiences.
I’m working on using multiple digital sound recorders in optimal positions around wedding ceremony- and reception spaces to capture clear vow exchanges, speeches, and sing-alongs.
Crisp audio of the emotional exchanges and touching speeches helps showcase personality and sets the fond memories ablaze for couples and audiences.
Having backup recordings ensures if one recorder gets disrupted, I have backup audio to layer in my editing to keep sound flowing smoothly.
I’m also using wedding planning and to implement wireless lavalier microphones for officiants and speakers so the audio levels remain optimal for important conversations and speeches during the wedding events.
Great visuals are only part of the wedding party equation! Audiences connect deeper when they can clearly hear those special exchanges. By focusing efforts on pristine audio capture through 2024, my wedding videos will resonate more through meaningful conversations and interactions.
