Ballygally Castle Hotel Wedding Venue for Videography - Northern Ireland
What’s the best venue for wedding videography across the whole of Northern Ireland? It’s a question that I’m often asked by newly engaged wedding couples and people in the different sectors of the wedding industry.
One of my favourites is easily Ballygally Castle Hotel.
Whilst I enjoy many of the classical venues such as Beech Hill House, Londonderry or Montalto Estate, Ballygally Castle Hotel is somewhere that most other venues aren’t - on the North Coast of Northern Ireland. You don’t have to be from here to understand that the North Coast is a spectacle in and of itself. Yes it’s often home to thunderous rain and Northern winds…but on a nice day it’s one of the most stunning places on this planet.
I’ve written before about the 5 top wedding venues in northern ireland, and Ballygally Castle Hotel is definitely up there.
The history of the venue, combined with the laid back and professional approach of the staff mean that it’s just a dream to host your wedding here.
The wedding venue gives that homely, familiar and welcoming vibe that wedding couples need on their big day.
Just 5 miles from the town of Larne and a convenient drive from Belfast, Ballygally Castle combines it’s deep history with a modern wedding venue that prides itself on a personal service. I’ve personally worked with Scott (their wedding manager) on numerous occasions and can attest to just how professional he is when running a wedding day here.
Open fires, huge stone turrets and old-aged beams all form part of the charm for this incredible place.
Their bridal preparation room is large enough for your whole bridal party - and with only one wedding per day, you’re sure to feel special. You can choose from either an outdoor ceremony, or get married in their newly built ceremony garden room which is full of natural light which is a bonus for wedding videos, and incredibly comfortable for your guests.
The scenery of the hotel really puts the venue on the map for me.
From the rustic charm of the hotel I can film brides getting ready in the bridal room, to moving outside into the garden for those all important pre-wedding shots (see my guide to which shots you need in your wedding video for more information on this).
For intimate shots the bride, groom and wedding photographer can join me on the beach which lends itself incredibly well to drone shots, or back into the stunning gardens with its natural streams for a touch of nature in your backdrop.
Guests can stay comfortable in the garden or large bar, for those candid filming shots that I love capturing.
Ballygally Castle Hotel is one of those venues where I know that I’m going to get the shots I need for a brilliant video edit. I take a booking there with absolute confidence that there’s so much variety in what I can capture - making your wedding video completely unique.
It’s a venue that I love more and more with each wedding.
Think that a Belfast city wedding would be more of your style? I’ve covered my favourite Belfast wedding venues in this post - be sure to give it a read. I often turn to Hitched for more information on wedding venues in Ireland and Northern Ireland.
